CLUB MEMBER BETH STEPHENS SUCESSFULLY RESCUES A HORSE!!
story by Susan White

In August of 2004, Beth Stephens saw an add in the Big Eagle about 16 horses for sale up on Rt: 2 in West Virginia.
She and her Boyfriend went to look and discovered that they were all in very poor condition.
She decided not to buy anything when one of them came up to her and loved on her. He was in worse shape than the others.
Her heart told her to buy this horse so that he would not die from starvation and he could live out his last days being cared for, (she thought he was very old due to the backbone which was sticking up several
inches). After she got him home, she had the vet check him out and discovered that he was only around 2 years old.Surprise!.
She had him cut and then began the long process of mending him back to health.
After 2 long years of hard work, love and devotion ,as well as with a little help from her friends, Phillip and Cheryl webb.
Cheryl, an I.C.U.Nurse, handled much of the doctoring chores and Phillip has been working on conditioning and training.,
Whiskey has transformed from a bag of bones to a beautiful paint palomino. She thought that he was going to be gaited but another surprise; he turned out to be a regular paint quarterhorse.
Thank you Beth for the time and patience you spent to save the life of one of God's Special Creatures.
Beth also has pictures to document the before, during and after. .

You'll have to agree, Whiskey is a real head turner.... The kind of horse you couldn't help but notice if you saw him in a field.
But now for all the right reasons !!!
